Welcome to Hamid Car Rentals. We’re a Zanzibar-based car rental company built around a simple idea: renting a car on the island should be as easy and transparent as booking a hotel room online, backed by a local team who actually knows the roads.

Our fleet covers the range most visitors need — from the compact, budget-friendly Toyota Vitz and Toyota Axio, through our most popular all-rounder the Toyota RAV4, up to the spacious Toyota Prado TX and our 14-seat Toyota Hiace for larger groups, plus the compact Suzuki Jimny for those who want something a little different. Every vehicle comes with automatic transmission and air conditioning as standard, and every rental includes our base insurance cover.
